November 16: Carbon VFX

Date change:  As you might have heard, the Cubs are in the World Series for the first time in more than 70 years. And it turns out that game 7 of the series is Nov. 2. As much as we love Cinema, we don’t want to compete with what might be (should be!) the first Cubs win in over a century. So we’re pushing out meetup at Carbon VFX back two weeks, to Nov. 16. Everything else is the same. We’ll see you there, and Go Cubs!

We have another great studio lined up for our November 16 meetup. Carbon VFX is going to be talking all about 3d scanning. They’ll walk us through the whole process, from creating a scan and importing it into C4D, to creating a face and body rig in C4D. Next, they’ll show us how to shoot an HDR of the environment, track footage in C4D, and finally create a photo-real animated character from the scan and composite it into live action footage, all synced to a pre-recorded a voice over track.

This should be an awesome introduction to the studio as well as their process. We’ll see you there!
